Oil industry is the mainstream of Nigeria’s economy, constituting 92 % of her export earnings and 89% of federal revenue. Oil is produced in the Niger Delta in southern Nigeria. The area is the largest wetland in Africa and third largest in the world. It is in the mangrove rain forest belt with very volatile and delicate ecology.
