In April 2021, Peju underwent what was supposed to be a routine surgical procedure at Premier Medical Centre. Tragically, the operation went wrong, leading to complications that resulted in her untimely death.

OAL was retained as lead counsel by Peju’s family to pursue justice and accountability. We provided legal services;

• Filed petitions with the Medical and Dental Disciplinary Council of Nigeria.
• Requested a coroner’s inquest into Peju’s untimely death.
• Demanded an independent investigation into the facilities and operational procedures at Premier Medical Centre.
