Peace is a basic attitude which settles opposite of interest even on most different levels in a way that the possible outbreak of violent hostilities loses ground.

On the first of september 1996, the “Aachener Friedenspreis” is bestowed upon “Olisa Agbakoba – Nigeria”.

“We honour you, because you have made peace through your sense of justice, your humanity, your readiness to help even with your enemies through your non-violentness, your moral courage, your energy, your impartiality and your kindness of heart”.

We honour women, men and group who have contributed “from below” towards the understanding of nations and people, and who have served to destroy images of foes and build up confidences among each other.

We value independently from ideological, religious criteria and party politics and independently of social and national affiliations.
